We are absolutely thrilled to share some monumental news with our community, clients, and partners. 2G Design and Build has officially been awarded the prestigious Silver Award at the 2026 London Design Awards for our work with Solus.

Taking home an accolade in the highly competitive Interior Design – Showroom and Exhibit category is a massive milestone for us. Now in its fourth year, the London Design Awards is a truly global arena, evaluating over 2,000 entries hailing from more than 40 countries. To be recognised on this international stage is a reflection of our team’s relentless drive to push creative and structural boundaries.

Reimagining a Brand Masterpiece: Solus

Our winning project, Solus, holds a very special place in our studio. Located right in the heart of Birmingham’s industrial heartland, this wasn’t a standard paint-and-polish refurbishment. Instead, it was a ground-up, total transformation of the brand’s headquarters.

The jury recognised the project for its bold creative vision, its cohesive design journey, its striking visual centrepiece, and, crucially, our team’s technical precision while executing the build in a live working environment.

Every inch of the Solus headquarters was detailed with an innovation strategy and a strict focus on user experience. Our goal was to blend the raw, gritty history of its industrial surroundings with an ultra-contemporary, forward-thinking layout.

Driven by Execution

At 2G, our core philosophy is simple: exceptional design is only as good as its physical execution. Because we seamlessly manage both the architectural design and the physical construction under one roof, we are able to maintain complete creative integrity from the first sketch to the final brick. This Silver Award belongs to our incredible team, who put in sleepless nights and maintained a meticulous attention to detail to make this vision a reality.

As our co-founder Catherine Gwynne beautifully puts it:

“London is one of the most fiercely competitive design capitals in the world, so being recognised here is an incredible honour. It’s a testament to our team’s relentless pursuit of perfection.”

And the client, Sam Frith, creative director at Solus:

“From the outset, they interpreted the brief with real intelligence and sensitivity, absorbing our ideas, challenging them where needed, and guiding us professionally on what would truly work in the space. The scheme itself was complex, with many layered elements and objectives, yet the process never felt heavy. The team at 2G were collaborative, pragmatic, and refreshingly enjoyable to work with throughout, balancing creativity with a clear understanding of delivery. We’re delighted with the end result.”

Looking Ahead

Whether we are transforming a commercial showroom or creating spaces for the hospitality and workplace sectors, our mission remains unchanged: to deliver environments that foster positive mindsets, supercharge productivity, and elevate human wellbeing.

This award gives us incredible momentum as we step into our next chapter of projects through 2026 and beyond.

We want to extend a massive thank you to our incredible clients at Solus for trusting our vision, and to our dedicated crew on-site and in the studio who make the impossible look effortless.
