2G are used to tight timescales but this project will be up there amongst the tightest with a 60 day lead time from design to transformation. With a deadline looming before Clerkenwell Design Week, the pressure was on to complete the transformation of a tired showroom into a centre stage for JDD in Clerkenwell, London
The Brief
JDD were taking over a showroom in London that was incredibly tired, dark, poor lighting, flooring and low quality external signage. They wanted a showroom design that ensured that JDD’s products took centre stage. They wanted a high-end refurb to reflect the brand values but also one that did not detract from the products on display, but in fact enhance them.
The objective was to not only attract passers by but also leave a lasting impression on clients who visit.
The Challenge
The time scale for the Showroom fit out was the main challenge as we had 60 days to design and fit it out before Clerkenwell design week.
In addition it was on an incredibly busy street in London within a building of other occupants, that provided its challenges when quick communication was required.
The Solution
The 2G design team created a beautiful showroom design that was focussed on celebrating JDD’s essence from the skilled craftsmen to the sustainable materials used in their creations. The showroom pays homage to the artisans behind the brand, highlighting their expertise in woodworking, upholstery, and craftsmanship. Our design team have created designs dedicated to ensuring that every area of the showroom reflects and enhances the JDD brand
The design considers the full customer journey from an inviting external facade, a welcoming reception area, a captivating sample room, versatile event spaces, and intimate meeting hubs where clients can engage with the exquisite furniture on display. Every aspect of the design is meticulously crafted to ensure that the furniture remains the focal point throughout the showroom.
One of the standout features is the meticulously designed sample room, tailored to cater to the needs of designers, like us, who appreciate thoughtful spaces. The kitchen space doubles as an event venue for hosting clients, adding a touch of hospitality to the showroom experience.
