A passionate local coffee shop, founded by a talented bakery chef and a coffee expert who treats his coffee with the precision of a Michelin chef, sought to transform their vision into reality. Their goal was to create a unique and memorable space that would elevate their offering, strengthen their brand identity, and clearly stand out in a competitive local market.
The Brief
The client needed a complete redesign of an aged, former pharmacy into a bright, airy coffee shop. The new venue was to provide a seamless blend of internal and external spaces, designed to place coffee firmly at the heart of the customer experience. The design direction focused on integrating a warm coffee-inspired palette while staying true to the client’s bright and playful branding style.
The Challenge
A key challenge was working within a tight budget while achieving a high-impact transformation that would make the venue come alive. The existing space needed significant updating to create a fresh and inviting atmosphere that balanced functionality for both indoor and outdoor seating areas, all while showcasing the coffee craftsmanship that defines the brand.
Our Solution
We approached the project with innovative design solutions and creative use of materials to maximise impact without inflating costs. The design brought the rich tones of coffee into the space through textured finishes and carefully selected accents, contrasted with the brand’s vibrant colour scheme to maintain a playful vibe. Open-plan layouts and clever use of natural light enhanced the airy feel, while flexible seating options encouraged community and comfort. The result was a transformed venue that perfectly highlighted the coffee experience and energized the brand’s presence.
The coffee shop has since received outstanding feedback from its clientele, with many praising the inviting atmosphere and how the design elevates their coffee moments.
