Loki’s third – an outpost in suburbia.

Concrete effect paint from Craig & Rose.
We exposed the existing brick walls where we could to add depth and character to the space.
Concrete screed floor used for the main space which contrasts the detailed patterned bar surround tiles.
Feature barfront mosaic tiles from Solus. We wanted a traditional bar in shape / traditional metal top. Then a modern element to contradict this – these mosaic tiles gave us that.
We have mirrored the columns and back bar – this enlarges the space and also provides space for menu display / signage etc.
Mix of reclaimed lattice wood tops and zinc metal table tops to continue the industrial/traditional contrast theme.

Loki Wines commissioned 2G to design and build their third venue in Knowle Solihull. The brief was to progress the look that had been suggested in the first 2 venues but to really step up the finish and the level of detail. Every element within the bar has been closely considered to add surprise and quality to the customers. We wanted to represent the calibre of the wines that Loki provide along with a comfortable & accessible environment on which they have built their successful brand.

A key challenge for our design team was to incorporate Loki’s brand identity into the frontage of the building whilst considering the conservation of the area. 2G’s team seamlessly amalgamated Loki into this conservation area and gained full planning permission.
