Loki Wines commissioned 2G to design and build their third venue in Knowle Solihull after creating their first 2. The brief was to ensure that the strong brand identity taken from the modern bar interior design from the Birmingham Branches was carried forward yet having its own identity.
The Challenge
The space was an old flooring company that was within the conservation area. Therefore the first challenge was to take a sterile showroom and provide a full bar refurbishment service to create an inviting relaxing wine bar and retail. The uniqueness of Loki needed to be reflected in the space and tobe inviting as both an evening and day proposition.
Another key challenge for our design team was to incorporate Loki’s brand identity into the frontage of the building whilst considering the conservation of the area.
Our Solution
We worked with every area of the bar and considered every element within the bar to add surprise and quality to the customers. Each area – whether the lounge, the bar, the retail space and the toilets have their own personality and function. The bar lighting design was a key element of the fit out – highlighting the details as well as the quality wines on sale. As bar construction specialists we ensured that the back of house was perfect for the needs of both propositions.
We wanted to represent the calibre of the wines that Loki provide along with a comfortable & accessible environment on which they have built their successful brand.
In terms of the frontage 2G’s team seamlessly amalgamated Loki into this conservation area and we gained full planning permission.
