Milliners Yard is a striking new-build, build-to-rent (BTR) development situated in Liverpool’s revitalised Fabric District. Comprising 258 energy-efficient apartments ranging from studios to two-bed units, it offers a thoughtfully designed urban living experience equipped with top-tier amenities and a contemporary aesthetic.
The brief
As part of this landmark residential project, 2G was appointed to deliver key communal interiors: the reception, entrance foyer, and residents’ gym. Collaborating closely with project management consultants Stace, our aim was to craft environments that not only embody the identity and ambition of Milliners Yard but also seamlessly integrate with the broader architectural framework by Jasper Sanders + Partners.
The challenge
The key challenges lay in bringing the design brief to life alongside functionality within a large-scale residential scheme. We needed to build spaces that felt cohesive and premium, while supporting the everyday lifestyle needs of residents in a fast-growing, vibrant urban development.

Our solution harmonised bespoke craftsmanship and intelligent technical integration:

Bespoke Joinery & Concrete Reception Desk: A distinct, custom-designed reception desk made from concrete grounds the entrance space, paired with tailored joinery that adds both function and form.

Pre‑set Lighting Systems: Highly controlled lighting that enhances the mood and ambiance perfectly calibrated from day one.

Acoustic Voiles: Installed to soften sound and support a serene, welcoming environment in the foyer and gym.

Custom Furniture Pieces: Seating and fittings designed specifically for Milliners Yard, ensuring a unique aesthetic and thoughtful usability across communal areas.
These interventions helped establish a consistent, modern design language that aligns with Milliners Yard’s vision; creating welcoming, high-quality amenity spaces that enrich the residential experience.
