Derwent Lofts

The 2G team recently completed the build on two apartments in this prestigious Javelin Block development for Oval Estates. With 2-bed apartments priced at £450k each, the finish had to be second to none, working with the industrial aesthetic but keeping the feel cosy and modern.

Built in 1902, Derwent House is a grade II listed former foundry in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Just 100 metres from St. Paul’s Square, it was originally constructed for Taylor and Challen – producers of machinery for the city’s metal-working and motor industries.

Fully bespoke kitchens and bathrooms, engineered natural flooring and exposed brick formed the base of the build, while mid-century loft-style furniture, spiral staircases and strategically placed communal areas worked with the stunning duplex layouts, etched into the former factory.
